Yongcheng Breeding Group conducts weekly growth performance measurements on breeding pigs. These weekly assessments are carried out to obtain phenotypic data for genetic evaluation, with the goal of breeding pigs with superior performance traits.

Regular genetic exchange through semen transfers between core farms ensures genetic linkage among core farms and expansion farms, thereby accelerating genetic progress.

Selection indices represent the optimal method for determining relative genetic value in animals. In 2023, with the assistance of Professor Allan P. Schinckel from Purdue University, our breeding consultant at Yongcheng Breeding Group, we redeveloped the Yongcheng Maternal Line Index (YC-MLI) and Yongcheng Sow Index (YC-SPI) to better suit the Chinese market. We are committed to breeding pigs that are more suited to the Chinese market and customer needs.
