Focus on key profitable technologies in pig farming  and discuss the development of the pig industry in China and the United States

—The Second (2013) China-US High-Level Forum on Pig Farming - Fujian Station has successfully concluded

The Second (2013) China-US High-Level Forum on Pig Farming - Fujian Station was grandly held at Chuanyuan International Hotel in Fuqing. The conference was jointly organized by the US Soybean Export Association, the National Pig Core Breeding Farm of the Ministry of Agriculture - Fujian Yongcheng Company, (Sino-US Joint Venture) Fujian Yongcheng Huazhong Pig Co., Ltd., and Beijing Fuliewei Biotechnology Co., Ltd. 

At the meeting, Professor Zhang Guihong analyzed in five aspects - breeding, nutrition, disease control, post-harvest processing, and management - how to achieve pig farm purification management. She comprehensively discussed the research topic "Purification of Swine Fever and Rabies Virus in Large-scale Pig Farms". 

Professor Ji Cheng covered the entire process from the embryo stage to birth and weaning of piglets. During this period, piglets experience stress in three aspects: nutrition, psychology and environment. He elaborated on how piglets' digestive organs select feed, and systematically taught the topic "Scientifically and Reasonably Formulating Piglet Feed Based on Piglet Digestive Physiological Defects". 

Professor Ted Funk, in the topic "Good Pig Environment: Raise comfortable pigs, maximize profit", explained how to create a favorable living environment for pigs from the following three aspects: 1. Provide a good start for young pigs 2. Take good care of the feet and legs of gilts and sows 3. Use air filtration systems in pig buildings to prevent airborne viruses from entering the pig houses. 

Chairman Xue Yongzhu explained the "Yongcheng Pig Genetic Evaluation System" from aspects such as the breeding work and methods of Fujian Yongcheng Company, how to accurately select genetically superior breeding pigs by establishing a complete breeding system, why genetic evaluation is necessary, and how the selection index is derived. He also interacted and communicated with the audience present at the scene. 

At the meeting, the participants listened attentively and took detailed notes, which would be helpful for them to refer to in the future. 

During the conference, General Manager Xue Yongqin of Fujian Yongcheng Company, Professor Ted Funk from the United States, Professor Ji Cheng from China Agricultural University, Professor Zhang Guihong from South China Agricultural University, Chairman of Fujian Sunshine Ecological Agriculture Co., Ltd. and National Labor Model Yang Guangping, Mr. Zhuang Jinmu, a veteran in the pig farming industry of Fujian Province, Mr. Wu Yichou, General Manager of Fujian Xingmu Farm, Mr. Xiao Guoxing, Chairman of Fujian Minuo Three-dimensional Agriculture Comprehensive Development Co., Ltd., and Mr. Dai Junming, General Manager of Nan'an Hengsheng Ecological Park and the youngest vice president of the Pigs Industry Trade Association in Quanzhou, all accepted interviews by the invitation of "International Livestock and Veterinary Journal (formerly the Foreign Animal Science - Pig and Poultry Department)", "Contemporary Livestock", "Livestock Industry Newsletter", and the pig-related Baidu media. 

During the meeting, the lottery draw was extremely exciting. The Fujian Province Yongchenghua Multiple Pig Co., Ltd. (a joint venture between China and the United States) sponsored a top-value 16,000-yuan five-star Duroc boar, which became the coveted prize for all the attendees. The lottery draw was full of ups and downs, with continuous peaks, bringing the meeting to its peak. 

Finally, Mr. Hu Maishun, the technical service manager of Beijing Fulovie Biotechnology Co., Ltd., presented an overview of the company's development. 

After the meeting, the lecturing teacher and the attending guests all left messages for Yongcheng Company and took photos together as a souvenir.
